If you ask somebody on the street to explain how to do garden fountains work they will probably tell you that these fountains use a combination of water, pressure and technology. A fountain uses the power of the waterfall to create moving water which is then directed to the different parts of the fountain. The flowing water will wash away dirt and debris that collect in the pump. The pump then filters the water to remove any remaining impurities and re-circulates it back into the fountain. This cleaning process goes on continuously all day long and you might be wondering how does a fountain like this work and why does it cost so much to create.

Garden fountains are usually made out of slate, fiberglass or acrylic. All three materials are lightweight and easy to transport to the construction site where the finished product will sit. Fiberglass is the cheapest of the materials as it is the easiest to transport to the job site but the downside is that it cannot be used in areas where there is low visibility or if the solar panel is exposed to rain. If you live in an area where the weather can severely affect the performance of your outdoor fountains you may find that making the switch to one of the other two is the better option.

The size and shape of your outdoor fountain can have a direct impact on how do garden fountains work. In the case of a table top fountain the larger the table the more surface area there is available for movement. The larger table also means that there is less chance of the table top fountain breaking down because of the weight of the water and the constant pressure exerted from the pump. Table top outdoor fountains can also provide many different relaxing sounds and visual effects and if you want to add more features like lighting and an electrical current you could do so quite easily.
